Debra Lake is a portrait photographer specializing in portraits of children, seniors, families, and their pets; occupational portraiture, corporate portraits and business headshots; as well as fashion photography. She has studied under the direction of New York fashion photographers Lindsay Adler and Melissa Rodwell; commercial photographer Charles Borland; Los Angeles-based landscape and environmental photographer Robert Glenn Ketchum and award winning commercial food photographer Joe Lavine.
Her photographic style melds together characteristics and qualities of her past training – utilizing natural and studio light to create fashion forward lifestyle, family, and candid portrait images. Additionally, combining conceptual portraiture with technically challenging post processing techniques affords the opportunity to create a surreal aesthetic quality to her portraiture.
“My goal is to utilize the creative process of photography to capture you from the inside out. Your session will be designed to not only document a visual representation of you as a person, but also to capture the essence of your inner being. Your photographs will speak of you … and speak to others about you. They will capture emotion … and will emote feelings in others who view your images. You will walk away from this photographic experience with confidence and exhilaration. And, we will have created together (you and I) a vast array of images purposed for your use — a keepsake album … stunning wall art for your home … promotional materials for your business … or a comprehensive portfolio for advertisement and publication!”
